Imps appoint Senior Coach and Senior Grade Captains for season 2021/22

22 Jul 2021 by Leigh Fabris

The Traralgon Imperials Cricket Club are very proud to announce that we’ve appointed former Churchill & TDCA star batsman Lee Farley as our Senior Coach.

Lee played a crucial top order role in arguably one of the greatest TDCA teams of all time & over a highly successful career, established himself as one of the premier batsmen in the district & a very handy bowler.

Lee will bring an enormous amount of experience, energy & professionalism to the role & I know he’ll have an immediate impact on our great club. Please join me in welcoming Lee to Catterick Crescent & showing him our support when we come together to prepare for next season.

Wasting no time at all, Lee is looking forward to kicking off our pre-season with some hit outs at the new Cricket Centre of Excellence in Moe in early August. We’ll update you as soon as we can book some sessions in & we look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible.

In more on field news, we’ve re-appointed Imps star keeper-batsman Brett Chapman as our A Grade Captain. With 846 hard hitting runs across the last 2 seasons, Chappy will once again provide passionate, selfless & inspiring leadership across the whole club & continue to prove he’s one of the best batsman in the competition.

Brett will be well supported by Ryan Morley & Joel Randall as his Vice Captains who remain amongst the best players in the TDCA. Well done lads and congratulations.

B Grade will again be led by Imps icon Ross Williams. Ross claimed the B Grade Champion award last year & again proved he’s still got plenty left in the tank. With a number of senior players committing to taking the Bs a few steps up the ladder next season & some exciting stars of the future improving every game, we could have no better man at the helm than Ross. Congrats Ross & we can’t wait to see the team in action once again.

Coming off a highly successful Premiership season, Imperials is very excited to announce that Michael McNulty will once again lead our C grade all star lineup. Mick loves a big stage & the proven match winner can’t wait to get back into it & once again prove his squad is the dominant outfit in the competition.

In their quest to capture back to back flags, we have appointed Daniel Morris as Vice Captain for the coming season. Arguably the most improved player across the past few seasons at Imperials, the superstar spinner & cult club figure took 22 wickets last season with a career best 5/29 against Toongabbie & we think this story has only just begun.
Back to back! Bring it on 👍🏻

Congratulations & a big thanks to everyone above. We can’t wait to kick things off in the next few weeks in preparation for season 21/22.
